East Point Behavioral Health offers a Psychiatric Day Treatment Program and Intensive Outpatient Services (IOS), which are a step down from inpatient services that provide 24-hour support. With our highly structured day treatment program, participants engage in one-on-one therapy, group therapy, and other treatment solutions while being able to live at home. This makes it possible to continue work, school, and family commitments while receiving personalized recovery solutions.
Programs are flexible and based on your needs, the disorder, and symptoms you are experiencing, and how well you progress through treatment. Each week, you will spend time attending therapy and learning new coping strategies, providing structure in your routine while leaving time for other commitments.
Can’t make it during the day? No problem—our Evening Intensive Outpatient Services exist to work around your weekday routines.
When you start treatment at East Point Behavioral Health, you will receive a comprehensive evaluation so that we can better understand the symptoms you are experiencing. We will also discuss your personal history, family history, and other relevant information. Our licensed professionals then develop a personalized treatment plan that matches your unique situation and the disorder you are experiencing, whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, or another condition. Even the most complex disorders can be successfully managed with the right combination of therapy, and sometimes, medication.
Individual therapy is the cornerstone of our mental health treatment program.
These one-on-one sessions are held between you and a counselor or therapist as you explore personal issues, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a confidential and supportive environment.
The goal is to help you understand yourself better, overcome challenges, and develop coping strategies to manage life’s challenges.
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where multiple individuals with similar mental health concerns come together under the guidance of a trained therapist to share their experiences and work toward healing. You will never be forced to share something you don’t want to.
You decide when you want to share, what you want to share, and how much you want to share. East Point Behavioral Health carefully plans out our support groups so that they can be as productive as possible.
Some people need medication to help manage their symptoms so that they can focus on their recovery.
It’s important to know that the right medications will enhance a treatment program—not take away from it. However, it’s critical that all medications are carefully monitored for adverse effects, which is something that is offered at our Behavioral Health Program. Our providers will oversee your medications and ensure you are taking the appropriate dosages. They can also adjust your medications as needed.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and changing negative thought patterns, you can improve how you feel and act.
Group therapy sessions bring several people together to receive treatment from one or more trained therapists. In these settings, you will be with others who are facing similar struggles and be able to share your experiences, gain insights, and support each other.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is based on CBT principles, but with a stronger focus on helping manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships.
Family support is available to reinforce the progress and momentum of individuals in treatment. We offer guidance, direction, and coaching for families of those facing mental health challenges.
Trauma-informed care (TIC) refers to an approach to healthcare, therapy, and social services that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and how it affects all aspects of care. The goal of TIC is to create a supportive environment where you feel safe, respected, and empowered.
